Khaled El Qaisi è un amico e compagno che conosciamo da anni, giovane cittadino italo-palestinese. Arrestato il 31 agosto dalle autorità israeliane, ammanettato davanti alla moglie e al figlio di 4 anni mentre rientravano in Italia da un soggiorno a Betlemme, è ancora imprigionato senza nessun contatto esterno e senza conoscere le accuse.
Condividiamo e diffondiamo la lettera aperta della moglie Francesca e della madre Lucia, chiedendo a tutti di fare lo stesso.
Lettera aperta per l’immediata liberazione del cittadino italo-palestinese Khaled El Qaisi, prigioniero delle autorità israeliane
Il 31 agosto Khaled El Qaisi, rispettivamente marito e figlio delle scriventi, è stato trattenuto dalle autorità israeliane ed è tuttora prigioniero in virtù di una misura precautelare in attesa di verifica di elementi per formulare un’accusa.
Lo scorso giovedì Khaled, che ha doppia cittadinanza, italiana e palestinese, attraversava con moglie e figlio il valico di frontiera di “Allenby” dopo aver trascorso le vacanze con la propria famiglia a Betlemme, in Palestina.
Al controllo dei bagagli e dei documenti, dopo una lunga attesa, è stato ammanettato sotto lo sguardo incredulo del figlio di 4 anni, della moglie nonché di tutti i presenti che erano in attesa di poter riprendere il proprio percorso.
Alle richieste di delucidazioni della moglie non è seguita risposta alcuna, piuttosto le sono state sottoposte domande per poi essere allontanata col proprio figlio verso il territorio giordano, senza telefono, senza contanti né contatti, in un paese straniero.
Nel tardo pomeriggio la moglie e il bambino sono riusciti a raggiungere l’Ambasciata Italiana solo grazie alla umana generosità di alcune signore palestinesi.
Khaled, traduttore e studente di Lingue e Civiltà Orientali all’Università La Sapienza di Roma, stimato per il suo appassionato impegno nella raccolta e divulgazione e traduzione di materiale storico palestinese, è tra i fondatori del Centro Documentazione Palestinese, associazione che mira a promuovere la cultura palestinese in Italia.
La famiglia, gli amici ma anche chi ha semplicemente avuto occasione di conoscerlo, sono in fremente attesa di avere aggiornamenti.
Al momento ancora non ha potuto incontrare il suo avvocato e sono ancora poche le notizie che si hanno riguardo alla sua incolumità.
Dal consolato e dal legale abbiamo saputo solo che affronterà un’udienza giovedì 7 settembre.
Immaginiamo intanto Khaled in completo isolamento, senza contatti col mondo esterno, senza percezione reale dello scorrere del tempo, sotto la pressione di continui interrogatori, in pensiero angosciato per la sorte del proprio figlio e di sua moglie lasciati allo sbaraglio con l’unica immagine negli occhi relativa alla sua deportazione in manette.
La situazione è dunque gravissima.
Attendiamo con grande ansia la risoluzione di questa ingiusta prigionia.
Chiediamo a chiunque ne abbia il potere, che si accerti delle condizioni di salute di Khaled e che soprattutto eserciti tutte le pressioni necessarie per la sua celere liberazione.

ﻣﺎﺗﺰال ﻋﺎﺋﻠﺔ ﺧﺎﻟﺪ وأﺻﺪﻗﺎﺋﮫ وﻛﻞ ﻣﻦ أﺗﯿﺤﺖ ﻟﮭﻢ ﻓﺮﺻﺔ ﻣﻌﺮﻓﺘﮫ، ﯾﻨﺘﻈﺮون ﺑﻔﺎرغ اﻟﺼﺒﺮ ﺗﻠﻘﻲ أﺧﺒﺎرًا ﻋﻨﮫ.
ﺣﺘﻰ اﻵن ﻟﻢ ﯾﺘﻤﻜﻦ ﺧﺎﻟﺪ ﻣﻦ ﻣﻘﺎﺑﻠﺔ ﻣﺤﺎﻣﯿﮫ، وﻻ ﺗﺰال اﻷﻧﺒﺎء ﺑﺸﺄن ﺳﻼﻣﺘﮫ ﻗﻠﯿﻠﺔ.
وﻛﻞ ﻣﺎ ﻋﻠﻤﻨﺎه ﻣﻦ اﻟﻘﻨﺼﻠﯿﺔ واﻟﻤﺤﺎﻣﻲ أﻧﮫ ﺳﯿﻮاﺟﮫ ﺟﻠﺴﺔ اﺳﺘﻤﺎع ﯾﻮم اﻟﺨﻤﯿﺲ اﻟﺴﺎﺑﻊ ﻣﻦ ﺷﮭﺮ أﯾﻠﻮل اﻟﺠﺎري.
ﻧﻈﻦ أن ﺧﺎﻟﺪ ﻓﻲ ﻋﺰﻟﺔ ﺗﺎﻣﺔ، دون اﺗﺼﺎل ﺑﺎﻟﻌﺎﻟﻢ اﻟﺨﺎرﺟﻲ، دون إدراك ﺣﻘﯿﻘﻲ ﻟﻤﺮور اﻟﻮﻗﺖ، ﺗﺤﺖ ﺿﻐﻂ اﺳﺘﺠﻮاﺑﺎت ﻣﺴﺘﻤﺮة، وﻻ
ﺑﺪ أﻧﮫ ﻗﻠﻖ ﻋﻠﻰ ﻣﺼﯿﺮ اﺑﻨﮫ وزوﺟﺘﮫ اﻟﻠﺬﯾﻦ ﺗﺮﻛﮭﻤﺎ ﻓﻲ ﺧﻄﺮ وﻓﻲ ﻋﯿﻮﻧﮭﻤﺎ ﺻﻮرة اﻋﺘﻘﺎﻟﮫ وﺳﻮﻗﮫ ﻣﻜﺒﻞ اﻟﯿﺪﯾﻦ.
إن اﻟﻮﺿﻊ ﺧﻄﯿﺮ ﻟﻠﻐﺎﯾﺔ. ﻧﺤﻦ ﻧﺘﻄﻠﻊ إﻟﻰ وﺿﻊ ﺣﺪ ﻟﮭﺬا اﻟﺴﺠﻦ اﻟﻈﺎﻟﻢ. وﻧﻄﻠﺐ ﻣِﻦ ﻛﻞ ﻣَﻦ ﻟﺪﯾﮫ اﻟﻘﺪرة أن ﯾﺴﺘﻌﻠﻢ ﻋﻦ اﻟﺤﺎﻟﺔ اﻟﺼﺤﯿﺔ
ﻟﺨﺎﻟﺪ، وﻗﺒﻞ ﻛﻞ ﺷﻲء، أن ﯾﻤﺎرس ﻛﻞ اﻟﻀﻐﻮط اﻟﻼزﻣﺔ ﻟﻺﻓﺮاج اﻟﺴﺮﯾﻊ ﻋﻨﮫ.

Open letter for the immediate release of the Palestinian-Italian citizen Khaled El Qaisi, prisoner of the Israeli authorities
On 31 August Khaled El Qaisi, husband and son respectively of the writers, was
detained by the Israeli authorities and is still imprisoned by virtue of a precautionary measure pending verification.
Last Thursday, Khaled, who has dual citizenship, Italian and Palestinian,was crossing the ‘Allenby’ border crossing with his wife and son after spending the holidays with his family in Bethlehem, Palestine.
At the luggage and document check, after a long wait, he was handcuffed under the incredulous gaze of his 4-year-old son, his wife, as well as all those who were waiting to resume their journey. The wife’s requests for explanations were not answered, rather she was asked questions and then sent off with her son to Jordanian territory, without telephone, cash or contacts, in a foreign country. In the late afternoon, the wife and child were able to reach the Italian Embassy thanks to the human generosity of some Palestinian ladies.
Khaled, a translator and student of the department of Oriental Languages and Civilisations at the University of Rome, esteemed for his passionate commitment to the collection, dissemination and translation of Palestinian historical material, is one of the founders of the Palestinian Documentation Centre, an association that aims to promote Palestinian culture in Italy.
His family and friends, but also those who simply had the opportunity to meet him, are anxiously waiting for updates.
At the moment, he has not been able to meet his lawyer and there is still little news about his safety. All we have heard from the consulate and his lawyer is that he will face a hearing on Thursday, 7 September.
In the meantime, we imagine Khaled in complete isolation, with no contact with the outside world, with no real perception of the passage of time, under the pressure of continuous interrogations, anguished about the fate of his own son and his wife left in the lurch with the only image in his eyes of his deportation in handcuffs.
The situation is therefore very serious.
We await with great anxiety the resolution of this unjust imprisonment.
We call on whoever has the power to do so to ascertain Khaled’s health condition and, above all, to exert all necessary pressure for his speedy release.
